Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most, answered straight.

Every number on this page is a real range from real jobs. If your question is not here, call us and ask. You will get the same straight answer on the phone.

What Things Cost

Real ranges from real jobs. Where your project lands depends on the room, the layout and what we find once we open things up.

From $8,000, depending on the size of the room and how much changes. A refresh that keeps the existing layout sits at the lower end. A new layout and a higher specification cost more. Tell us the room and we will tell you what it takes.

From $5,000. A facelift keeping your existing cabinet boxes starts around $5,000. A full replacement or a changed layout costs more. Tell us your budget and we will tell you what it buys.

From $4,000. A cosmetic update where the waterproofing is sound sits at the bottom of that. A full renovation with new waterproofing and tiling costs more, and changing the plumbing or layout more again.

From $3,000, depending on size, materials and whether it is freestanding or attached to the house.

In a small bathroom, yes. Our small bathroom range starts at $4,000 and a full small bathroom renovation usually lands between $6,000 and $10,000. In a larger main bathroom $10,000 is closer to a cosmetic update than a full renovation. Tell us the room and we will tell you honestly which one you are looking at.

That is facelift territory. New doors, benchtop, splashback and handles on your existing cabinet boxes. If the boxes are sound it can look very good. If they are not, the money is better spent elsewhere and we will say so.

No. Free quotes on any renovation job. The site visit and the written quote are both free with no obligation.

Because it is the first thing everyone wants to know and we would rather you found out now than after a sales visit. If a renovation is not in your budget you should be able to work that out from our website.

How Long Things Take

Two to three weeks on site. The stages are the same as a larger bathroom, so it is only modestly faster.

Two to four weeks on site, depending on size and whether the layout changes.

Three to five weeks on site. The bigger factor is lead time on cabinetry and stone, which we order early so your kitchen is only out of action while we are actually working.

For the time we are on site. We tell you the dates before we start. If the bathroom is your only one we plan the timing with you first.

It depends on what is already booked and on material lead times. We give you honest dates on the first call rather than telling you what you want to hear.

Payment and Quotes

10 percent on accepting the quote. That secures your dates and covers ordering materials. Then progress payments as stages are completed, and the final payment on completion after you have walked through it.

It is lower than a lot of the industry. Be careful of anyone asking for a third or a half up front. You should never pay for work that has not been done.

Yes. You get a fixed price in writing, itemised, with what is included and what is not.

We stop and tell you. You get the cost and the options before we go further. Nothing is added to your bill without you approving it first. In older Melbourne homes this happens often enough that we plan for it rather than pretending it will not.

The Work Itself

Strip out and removal, waterproofing, plumbing, electrical, tiling, cabinetry, fixtures and fit off, and the final clean. One team handles all of it.

Yes. Full bathroom and kitchen renovations including layout changes are what we do. Moving plumbing costs more, so we tell you what the difference is before you decide.

Yes. Custom cabinetry made to fit your space rather than cut down to a standard size, and stone benchtops.

Yes. Licensed trades, arranged and scheduled by us. You do not need to book anyone.

Full home renovations and pergolas. Bathrooms are our specialty and most of what we do, but we take on the rest as well. Ask us.

Usually not for a bathroom or kitchen that keeps the same layout. If you are moving walls or your home is in a heritage overlay, a permit may be needed. We tell you before you spend anything.

Our team. The people who quote your job are the people doing it. We are small enough that you deal with the same people throughout.

We call you back within one business day and give you an indicative price over the phone based on what you describe. If it sounds like a fit we book a free site visit, and that is where the fixed written quote comes from.

Yes. You do not have to be ready to book anything. Plenty of people call us months before they renovate.
